Dear Sir/Madam,

The English and the Welsh have been getting along together (or not) for the past 1500 odd years. I suggest that relative newcomers to these islands, like Mr. Gurbux Singh, judging by his name (chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality),  stand respectfully back and let these two indigenous European peoples get on with it - i.e. mind his own bloody business! (Robinson is the racist link, says civil rights group, 10 March 2001).

Don't tell me: I've just been terribly non-PC and shall have to go and stand in the corner with Anne Robinson. Still, much rather her company than that of those who would send us there.

Yours non-PC

Roger Hicks
