You cannot compare America with Europe when it comes to immigrants and immigration (Muslim or other). In America the ratio of non-natives (immigrants) to natives is about 100:1, while in Europe the ratio is effectively reversed.

Europeans have a culture rooted in the achievements of their ancestors which goes back, historically, at least 2500 years, and prehistorically even further. Modern America has a history that goes back not even 1/10 of European history, and no prehistory at all that binds its population (since it is specific to each ethnic group).

American materialism and cultural superficiality is legend, so that anyone sufficiently materialistic and disinterested in their ancestorial origins can identify with it and become "an American". But in Europe (and most other parts of the world, with ancient and still dominant native populations and cultures) things are very different.
